Hi, I'm Timothy Greco, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, and my journey has been fueled by a profound curiosity about human behavior, with a keen interest in bipolar disorder.

From a young age, Vipassana meditation and Thich Nhat Hanh's teachings resonated with me. Their lessons on mindfulness and compassion became my life's cornerstones. My passion for understanding the human body led me to explore contact improvisation with the gifted Nancy Stark Smith. I learned to view the body not just biologically but as a conduit for communication, expression, and healing.

My fascination with the interplay of body, mind, and spirit drew me towards somatics. A transformative session with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen on body-mind centering cemented this interest and directed my professional path.

During my tenure as a psychiatric nurse at a hospital, it was disheartening to witness many individuals with bipolar disorder not showing significant improvement. Time and again, I encountered patients presenting with depressive symptoms and expressing suicidal ideation. It felt like we were often merely placing a temporary patch over deep-seated issues. It was an eye-opening experience, and it instilled in me an urgent need to find more effective, holistic solutions. I couldn't shake the feeling that there must be a better way to genuinely assist these individuals, leading me to seek innovative strategies and therapies that could offer them the comprehensive care and understanding they deserved.

With these insights, I completed my Bachelor's in Nursing from Daemen University, Amherst, NY. Working as a psychiatric nurse, I was passionate but soon perceived the constraints of traditional psychiatric methods. This realization drove me to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These therapies hinted at a more comprehensive treatment. This quest introduced me to integrative medicine—a holistic approach emphasizing the whole individual.

This led me to a one-year integrative psychiatry fellowship, and a certification in nutritional psychiatry, and presently, I'm deepening my expertise in personalized integrative psychiatry at the Integrative Psychiatry Institute.

Today, my diverse experiences in meditation, movement, psychology, and psychiatry empower me to guide others on their wellness journeys. I'm dedicated to helping individuals harness their inherent healing powers, transforming them into their best selves. For me, this isn't just a job—it's a mission, rooted in my passion for the limitless potential of the human psyche, body, and soul.

As an Integrative Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, my approach to healing is comprehensive and personalized. I believe in getting to the root of the problem rather than just treating symptoms. This is necessary for those who suffer from Bipolar  Disorder and treatment-resistant depression. Without proper diagnosis and treatment, these patients may not get the help they need for years. To find the root, I utilize an array of diagnostic tools including dietary analysis, specialty stool, urine, and blood testing, as well as gastrointestinal assessments and physical evaluations. The insights gleaned from these tests help me understand the unique health issues my patients face. I then create individualized plans for treatment that may include tailored dietary adjustments, supplementation, prescribed exercise, and psychiatric medication, along with interventions for sleep and spiritual well-being. Recognizing that trauma and emotional health play crucial roles in overall well-being, I offer trauma support and work with patients to align their lives with their core values. My approach also includes detoxification strategies, immune modulation, brain optimization, and strategies aimed at enhancing the gut-brain axis and metabolic regulation. This comprehensive approach ensures that every facet of a patient's well-being is addressed, paving the way for a profound, lasting healing journey.

I understand that seeking psychiatric care can be a difficult step. That's why I strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment for our patients. I am here to listen and provide the care and support you need to live your best life.
