What We Treat
I provide empathetic, client-centered care using an integrative approach. Below are the various mental health conditions that I treat. I address these conditions by collaborating with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive care and focusing on resilience, self-care, and personal growth. My ultimate goal is to support clients in their journey to improved mental well-being, helping them lead fulfilling lives.
Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar Disorder encompasses a spectrum of mood disorders, characterized by the oscillation between depressive and manic or hypomanic episodes. Bipolar I Disorder is marked by extreme mood swings, including full-blown manic episodes with symptoms such as elevated mood, increased energy, reduced need for sleep, and risky behavior, which can severely impact daily functioning or necessitate hospitalization. Depressive episodes in both Bipolar I and II feature sadness, disinterest, and possible suicidal ideation. The etiology of Bipolar Disorder is multifaceted, involving genetic, environmental, and neurochemical factors. Bipolar II differs from I by its hypomanic episodes, which are less severe than manic episodes but still include symptoms like irritability, increased activity, and reduced sleep, interspersed with depressive periods characterized by sadness and hopelessness.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health that affects people of all ages and backgrounds. It is by intrusive, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) that are performed in an attempt to alleviate anxiety or prevent a feared outcome. OCD can be a debilitating condition that interferes with daily life, but with proper treatment, many people are able to manage their symptoms and lead fulfilling lives.
Vegan Mental Health
My psychiatry practice, grounded in lab-based diagnostics, is particularly beneficial for those following a vegan lifestyle. By analyzing comprehensive lab values—including nutrient levels, hormonal balance, and gut health—I can identify specific deficiencies or imbalances that may affect mental health. Vegans, who may be at risk for certain nutritional shortfalls, can benefit greatly from this approach. Tailored interventions such as targeted supplementation and dietary adjustments help optimize mental well-being, addressing issues like anxiety, depression, and mood swings. This precise, data-driven method ensures that my patients achieve optimal mental health while maintaining their commitment to a vegan lifestyle.
Treatlment Resistant Depression and Anxiety
We treat Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD) and anxiety disorders. TRD refers to Major Depressive Disorder that doesn’t adequately respond to at least two different antidepressants from different classes, even when given at therapeutic doses for an adequate duration. This condition can be particularly challenging, often leading to prolonged periods of depression that severely impact a patient’s quality of life. Anxiety disorders, similarly, can be debilitating and persistent, requiring a nuanced and comprehensive approach to care. Our practice is dedicated to providing effective treatments for these complex conditions, utilizing personalized strategies to help patients regain their well-being.
Other Mental Health Challenges
My psychiatry practice, based on lab-driven diagnostics, is designed to address a wide range of mental health challenges. By analyzing detailed lab values—including nutrient levels, hormonal balance, and overall health markers—I can uncover the underlying causes that might be affecting your mental well-being. This personalized approach allows me to create tailored treatment plans that go beyond symptom management, aiming for true, lasting improvement. If you're facing mental health challenges and are unsure if we can help, reach out and let’s discuss your specific needs.
